Staff Lockers for Corporate and Hybrid-Work Offices

The office locker brief has changed. With hybrid schedules and hot-desking now standard in many Indian corporate offices, the old model — one permanent locker per employee, tied to a fixed desk — often no longer fits how the office actually operates. Clear-desk policies mean staff still can't leave laptops or documents out overnight, so secure daily-use storage remains necessary, but it now needs to work for a shared pool of employees on a given day rather than a 1:1 fixed allocation.

A practical starting point for sizing: base the locker count on peak same-day floor headcount and usage pattern, not total employee count — a floor with 200 employees on flexible attendance might realistically need lockers for 120-140 concurrent users, not 200. Locking options matter more in a shared-pool model too. A fixed key or padlock system works for permanently assigned lockers, but a shared pool benefits from combination or digital locks that can be reset between users daily, rather than managing physical key handover.
